Golden Touch's Easy Rider

Golden Touch’s Easy Rider brought bold Appaloosa pattern, soft fleece, sound conformation, and an easygoing personality to our Huacaya breeding program at Elderwood Farms in Millington, Tennessee. We loved the combination of a male who was a pleasure to handle and spots that were impossible to miss!

Rider earned first place at the 2013 Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular and the 2014 Northeast Alpaca Expo. A son of TCB Dante and Golden Touch’s Cover Girl, he gave us another patterned genetic line to work with as we developed our Appaloosa and Harlequin breeding program.

Offspring Bred at Elderwood:

• Elderwood’s Voodoo Queen - Retained, blue-ribbon-winning Harlequin daughter out of FPC Peruvian Aiko; a producer of Appaloosa and Harlequin daughters.
• Elderwood’s Riddler - Appaloosa son from the Easy Rider and Aiko pairing; now deceased.
• Elderwood’s Legally Blonde - Light fawn daughter, later sold.

Rider was later sold and has since passed away, but Queenie carries his genetic line forward here at Elderwood. Her daughters, Elderwood’s Voodoo Veil and ELWD’s Voodoo LaRoux, are his Appaloosa and Harlequin granddaughters. Voodoo Veil’s sire, Irish Meadows’ Crescendo, adds another connection to our current herdsire program. Seeing those breeding decisions reach the next generation is something we never get tired of!
